When it was about to decide where the next Annual Meeting should be hold on the ELASA Annual Meeting 2009 in Romania me and the other German participants quickly raised our hands and agreed to organize the Annual Meeting in Germany. We wanted to keep the spirit alive and show our country to other enthusiastic students from all over Europe.
During the following two years we were working hard on setting up an interesting and diverse program collecting money to cover the costs and getting everything arranged to realize this project. During all that time we were not sure if we would be able to carry it out in the end. Finally it came true and we were able to welcome 60 students from all over Europe to a two weeks long journey across the country.
We visited different sites of energy production from former coal mining sites in the Ruhr-Area to modern and newly established solar fields near Leipzig. We heard interesting and inspiring speeches from experts and got an insight into contemporary landscape architecture projects in the different cities we have been to. We achieved great results in the different workshops from proposals for energy production in the future to amazingly energetic theatre plays. And of course we had two weeks with lots of fun of exchange of ideas experiences and of new contacts and friendships.
Thanks to all of our supporters who made this possible, thanks to the great team of organizers that put so much effort in realizing this event and thanks a lot to all of you participants who contributed to make this Annual Meeting so successful!
